Provo City, Utah Co., Utah. 4 March 1895 A blessing given by John smith, Patriarch, upon the head of Andrew B. Christenson, son of Lars M.C. and Elsie K. Christensen. Born in Manti, Sanpete county Utah, 6 June 1869. Brother Andrew B. Christenson, as thou hast desired it, I place my hands upon thy head to pronounce and seal a blessing upon thee, that thy heart may be comforted, thy lineage made known, and to a certain extent, thy pathway marked out. Thou art of the House of Israel, numbered among the sons of Zion of whom much is expected. And I ask God the Eternal Father for his spirit to invite thy blessing to fill thee with the influence thereof to open the eyes of thine understanding, to give thy memory strength that you may retain the knowledge gained through study, through observation and by listening to the whisperings of the spirit. For the eye of the Lord is upon thee and he has a work for thee to do in which if thou art faithful, thou shalt see many changes and witness trying events among the people. Thou shalt also behold the arm of the Lord made bare in behalf of Israel and His name gloried, for in thy day he will come forth from his hiding place and vex the nations. It is therefore necessary that you learn to listen to the whisperings of the spirit and be guided thereby; for the adversary has great power on the earth. He will strive to lay barriers in thy way. He will cause wicked persons to make thee trouble, and if possible, to cause thee to doubt. It is therefore necessary that you be prudent and seek wisdom of the Father and be guided thereby, for you shall be called to hold positions of responsibility and to preside among the people. It shall be thy lot also to see much of the world, to learn much of the ways of the people, and to let thy voice be heard among the nations of the earth, and inasmuch as thou wilt reflect often upon the past, present, and the future, thou shalt realize that the hand of the Lord is over thee for good. That thou hast yet much to do. It will also be necessary to rely upon him who is the giver of every good and perfect gift. Thou art of Ephraim and entitled to the blessings of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob with the gifts of the Priesthood. Through prayer and faith thou shalt have the gift of healing by the promptings of the still small voice of the Comforter. Thou shalt prophecy, For the Lord knowest the secrets of the heart and will acknowledge his priesthood through thee. Thou shalt fulfill thy mission. Thy name shall be perpetuated, and live in the memory of the saints. Therefore, be of good cheer, continue true to thy trust, and it shall be well with thee. This blessing I seal upon thee in the name of Jesus Christ, and I seal
thee up into eternal life to come forth in the morning of the First resurrection,
a savior in thy father's house. Even so, Amen.
